Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Maine real estate sales agent exam?

The candidate handbook gives the general portion 80 scored questions in 2.5 hours and the Maine Law portion 40 scored questions in 1.5 hours. Unscored pretest questions are added: 5 on the general portion and 5 to 15 on Maine law.

What is the passing score on the Maine real estate exam?

A scaled score of 75, by the handbook. It is reported on a scale of 0 to 100 and should not be read as how many questions, or what percentage, were answered correctly. Both parts must be passed in the year after the course is completed.

What is a sales agent license in Maine?

The entry-level license. A sales agent works for an agency in a training capacity and performs the brokerage services its designated broker authorizes (32 M.R.S. §13200). After two years, and a further course, the agent may apply for the associate broker license (§13199).

Are these the real Maine real estate exam questions?

No. Each one was written for this page from the Maine Revised Statutes and the Commission's rules, and the exam itself has not been seen here. No licensed Maine broker or attorney has checked the answers yet.
