What the outline covers

The outline has a general part (insurance contracts, bail bond authority, definitions) and an Idaho part: laws common to all licenses, bail bond authority under Idaho Code 41-1037 to 41-1045, and the definitions of 19-2905 and 41-1038. It prints no weights.

The 180-day clock

Bail is exonerated if the defendant appears within 180 days of the order of forfeiture. A motion to set the order aside is filed inside that window, and unpaid bail is due within five business days after it ends (Idaho Code 19-2917, 19-2918, 19-2922).

What is left out

Law only. The Supreme Court's statewide bail guidelines, the outline's dictionary terms such as extradition and principal, and the fee schedule in IDAPA 18.01.02 are not asked.

  • The clerk mails notice of an order of forfeiture within five business days of the order (Idaho Code 19-2915).
  • Collateral goes back within 14 days of notice that the obligation is discharged (Idaho Code 41-1043).
  • One power of attorney for each bond, at least equal to the bond amount (IDAPA 18.06.01.014).
