The three parts of the outline

Insurance regulation is 25 percent of the exam, the legal framework 35 percent, bail bond principles and practices 40 percent.

Bail bonds practice test: Ohio numbers

Build-up funds stop at 40 percent of the premium. Collateral goes back within 21 days of the discharge. A forfeiture notice is mailed within 15 days and sets a show cause date 45 to 60 days out (R.C. 3905.91, 3905.921, 2937.36).

What is left out

Statutes, the conduct rule and the Constitution only. Outline items no Ohio law states, such as the elements of a contract and the federal credit reporting act, are not asked.

  • An agent is an officer of the court and carries the wallet identification card while working (R.C. 3905.85).
  • One power of attorney per bond, never altered, expired or used twice (Ohio Adm.Code 3901-1-66).
  • Before an apprehension: a written contract with the surety and notice to local law enforcement (R.C. 2927.27).
