The seven topics follow the Missouri Bail Bond Agent Content Outline (50 scored questions) in the Missouri Insurance Content Outlines effective February 1, 2026 (https://www.pearsonvue.com/content/dam/VUE/vue/en/documents/publications/122601.pdf), linked from the Department of Commerce and Insurance bail bond agents page (https://insurance.mo.gov/other-licensees/bail-bond-agents). Read the full guide

The seven parts of the outline

The outline lists seven parts and gives no weights: the regulator's powers, licensing, unfair trade practices, bail bond procedures, fiduciary duties, definitions and criminal procedure.

Old numbers, new numbers

The outline still cites the 374 numbers the law had before it moved in 2026, so every explanation here gives the new section and the former one.

What is left out

Statutes and Rule 33.17 only. The regulation 20 CSR 700-6 and the outline's dictionary terms, such as extradition and exoneration, are not asked.

  • A general bail bond agent files a sworn affidavit of no unsatisfied judgments between the first and tenth of each month (RSMo 324.2154).
  • Tell local law enforcement before an apprehension and bring a certified copy of the bond (RSMo 324.2148).
  • Collateral is held as a fiduciary and returned upon final termination of liability on the bond (RSMo 324.2130).

United States citizenship, a high school diploma or GED, good moral character, the surety qualifications of Supreme Court Rule 33.17 (age 21 among them), 24 hours of initial basic training and a passed examination (RSMo 324.2115, 324.2121, 324.2133).
