How this list was compiled: Rule 1, Rules of Bail Bond Business, of the Arkansas Professional Bail Bond Company and Professional Bail Bondsman Licensing Board, Sections 1 to 46, effective January 1, 2024, read on October 14, 2026 in the copy the Board posts at https://labor.arkansas.gov/wp-content/uploads/Bail-Bondsman-Rule-1.pdf. Each question names its section of the rule. The examination facts on the page come from the Board's own sheets on applying for a license, read the same day. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the law named under "source". Nothing comes from a state examination, its sample questions, a testing vendor, a prelicensing course or a prep publisher.
How it works
This unofficial Arkansas bail bond agent practice test is written from the licensing board's own Rule 1, Rules of Bail Bond Business: 89 questions of our own, each naming its section. Not affiliated with the Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman Licensing Board.

What the Board publishes about its exam
The Board prepares and gives its own written examination. It publishes no outline, question count or time limit, so this page states none.
Dates in Rule 1
Licenses expire December 31 and renewal packets are due December 1. Quarterly reports are due on the 15th of October, January, April and July by 4:30 p.m. A late report or packet costs $100 a day (Sections 9 and 19).
What is left out
Rule 1 only. The bail bond statute, Arkansas Code 17-19-101 and after, which sets the premium, is not asked here, nor are the forms in the rule's appendices.
One power of attorney for each bond: stacking is forbidden (Rule 1, Section 6).
The premium is deposited in full before the arrestee is released (Rule 1, Section 25).
Records are kept five years at one central location (Rule 1, Section 39).
Questions and answers
What score do I need to pass the Arkansas bail bondsman exam?
70 percent or higher, by the Board's sheet on becoming a licensed bail bond agent. The written examination is taken at the Board office in Little Rock, and the $25 exam fee goes in with the application.
How do I become a bail bondsman in Arkansas?
The Board's sheet lists the steps: an appointment from a licensed bail bond company, an eight-hour pre-licensing course, the application forms and fees, the written examination and a fingerprint background check at Arkansas State Police Headquarters.
How long is an Arkansas bail bond exam result good for?
One year from the date the result is certified. A person who applies for a license later than that must retake and pass the examination before a license can be issued (Rule 1, Section 38).
How much continuing education does an Arkansas bail bondsman need?
Not fewer than six hours each year from a Board-approved provider. A bondsman who does not complete it is not re-licensed for the upcoming year (Rule 1, Section 19).
