How this list was compiled: Written from the Notary Public & eNotary Handbook of the Arkansas Secretary of State, Rev. 1-2025, opened 2026-10-04 at https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/uploads/bcs/NotaryHandbook2025.pdf. Each question names the handbook page it rests on (the page number printed on the page) and, where the handbook names one, the section of the Arkansas Code Annotated. Licence: Own work. Questions, answer choices and explanations were written for this site in its own words and its own order from facts in the handbook; nothing is copied from another practice test or from the state's examination, which nobody here has opened. The handbook carries no sample questions.
How it works
This unofficial Arkansas notary exam practice test holds 120 questions written from the Secretary of State's Notary Public & eNotary Handbook, Rev. 1-2025. Each answer names its page. Checked October 13, 2026.

The state asks for 80 percent
The Secretary of State's handbook says a multiple choice exam is required for all notary applicants, that a renewing notary passes it again, and that 80% is passing. It publishes no question count, so exam mode here draws a 25-question sample and passes at 80 percent.
Written from the handbook, not the Arkansas Code
Each question rests on the Secretary of State's handbook, the agency's own summary of the law, and names its page. The Start from menu drills the commission steps, the seal, certificates and electronic acts.
A $7,500 surety bond, an 80% exam score and a ten-year term (handbook pages 2 and 6).
The seal is in blue or black ink and may not show the Great Seal or an outline of the state (page 7).
Thirty days to file an amendment after a change of name or address (page 6).
Questions and answers
Is there an Arkansas notary exam?
Yes. The Secretary of State's handbook, Rev. 1-2025, read October 13, 2026, says a multiple choice exam is required for all notary applicants and that 80% is passing. A pass on the 25-question sample here measures this bank, not the state's exam.
Are these the real Arkansas notary exam questions?
No. Nobody at this site has opened the state's exam, and the site is not affiliated with the Arkansas Secretary of State. Every question was written from the office's handbook. No commissioned Arkansas notary has reviewed the answers yet.
How long does an Arkansas notary commission last?
Ten years, according to page 6 of the handbook. It says renewal takes an online amendment, a new surety bond and a passed notary exam.
Does an Arkansas notary have to keep a journal?
No. Page 8 of the handbook says the law does not require a notary to keep a record of official acts, and recommends a register or journal. It adds that a notary's records are admissible as evidence in Arkansas courts.
