What is left out
Law only, read in the Dental Practice Act booklet the Board posted in May 2025. Fees, the sedation and anesthesia rules, infection control and mobile dental facilities are not asked. Each question cites its section or article. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.
- Arkansas licenses renew on January 1 of even-numbered years, and one not renewed within thirty days is forfeited (A.C.A. 17-82-310, 17-82-311).
- Dentists owe fifty continuing education units every two years and hygienists forty, at least one hour of it on infection control (Rules, Article XIV).
- Every function delegated to a dental assistant is done under personal supervision, with the dentist in the office (Rules, Article XVII).
Questions and answers
Is the Arkansas dental jurisprudence exam open book?
Yes. The Board's licensure page calls it an open-book exam on the Dental Practice Act, the Dental Corporation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the Board, emailed to you once your application and fee arrive.
What score passes the Arkansas jurisprudence exam?
75%. Article IX of the Board's rules sets that score for applicants by credentials, and the Board's dental assistant page gives the same minimum. A mock run on this page asks 25 questions and applies 75%.
How many questions are on the Arkansas dental jurisprudence exam?
The Board's pages give no question count and no time limit, so none is printed here.
Do Arkansas dental assistants take the jurisprudence exam?
Yes, for an expanded duty permit. Article XVII of the rules lists a jurisprudence examination on the Dental Practice Act and the Board's rules for the nitrous oxide, radiography, coronal polishing and sedation monitoring permits.
Is this the exam the Board emails?
No. These questions were written for this site from the public Act and rules, and nothing here comes from the Board's exam. The Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners has not reviewed the page.
