For-Hire Driver Practice Tests: Chauffeur License and F Endorsement

Chauffeur licenses and for-hire endorsements: each bank names the statute, rule or agency publication behind every question.

These are unofficial practice tests for the licenses that sit between an ordinary driver's license and a commercial driver license. No page here is a government website, and no agency has reviewed the questions.

More about these tools

Michigan issues a chauffeur license to people employed mainly to drive vehicles rated 10,000 pounds or more. Louisiana's Class D chauffeur's license covers vehicles from 10,001 pounds to under 26,001 and carrying passengers for a fee. Tennessee adds a For-Hire (F) endorsement to a regular license for taxi, shuttle, courier and delivery work.

Each question names the statute, rule or agency publication it was written from. The Michigan, Louisiana and Tennessee banks test the law behind those states' own booklets and do not cover everything in them. Where an agency publishes the length or pass mark of its knowledge test, the page gives the number, the source and the date checked.
