How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the four areas of the MPJE Competency Statements that the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy publishes at https://nabp.pharmacy/programs/examinations/mpje/competency-statements/ (opened 2026-10-14): Area 1 Licensure/Personnel 22%, Area 2 Pharmacist Practice 33%, Area 3 Dispensing Requirements 24%, Area 4 Pharmacy Operations 21%. The 120 questions are 26, 40, 29 and 25. Every fact was read on 2026-10-14 in the General Statutes of Connecticut as the General Assembly publishes them: chapter 400j, Pharmacy, sections 20-570 to 20-638c (https://www.cga.ct.gov/current/pub/chap_400j.htm) and chapter 420b, Dependency-Producing Drugs, sections 21a-248 to 21a-254 (https://www.cga.ct.gov/current/pub/chap_420b.htm). Each question names its section. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site, written from the public text of the Connecticut statutes. Nothing is taken from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE, NABP's sample items, a prep company or a review book.

How it works

This unofficial CT MPJE study guide turns Connecticut's pharmacy statutes into 120 practice questions. It is not affiliated with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), which owns the MPJE, or the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.

A Connecticut MPJE study guide in question form

Every question was written from the General Statutes of Connecticut on the General Assembly's site, read October 14, 2026: chapter 400j, which holds the Pharmacy Practice Act, and sections 21a-248 to 21a-254 of chapter 420b on controlled substances. The split across four areas follows NABP's published MPJE Competency Statements.

What is left for you to read

Practice for an exam, not medical advice. The department's regulations, where technician ratios are set, are outside this bank, and fees are not asked. Federal questions are on the federal pharmacy law page.

  • A refill without the prescriber's authorization is a 72-hour supply, once, and never a controlled drug (section 20-616).
  • Reconcile the Schedule II perpetual inventory monthly and report a loss within 72 hours of finding it (section 20-633e).
  • Fifteen contact hours a year, five of them live and one on pharmacy or drug law (section 20-600).

Questions and answers

Is there a free CT MPJE study guide?

The Department of Consumer Protection's MPJE study materials page offers its compiled Connecticut drug laws and regulations as a free download. It holds no questions. Here two chapters of the statutes become 120 questions, each naming the section to reread after a miss.

How many questions are on the Connecticut MPJE?

120 computer-based questions in 2.5 hours, by NABP's test day page. The exam adapts as you answer and the result is pass or fail. The timed run on this page is the same size.

Does Connecticut use the Uniform MPJE?

Connecticut was not among the 13 jurisdictions on NABP's Uniform MPJE list on October 14, 2026, and the department's pharmacist exam FAQ still names the MPJE. Its candidates sit the state-specific exam.

How many times can you take the MPJE in Connecticut?

NABP's test day page allows 5 attempts per jurisdiction. Section 20-590 of the Connecticut statutes says only that an applicant has passed any examinations the commissioner requires, so this bank asks nothing on retakes.

Are these real Connecticut MPJE questions?

No. The real exam is confidential. Each question here was written from the statute section it cites, and nothing comes from the MPJE, the Pre-MPJE or NABP's sample items. Neither NABP nor the Department of Consumer Protection has reviewed this page.
