Questions and answers
Who needs a snowmobile safety certificate in Wisconsin?
Anyone at least 12 years old who was born on or after January 1, 1985. Section 350.05 also requires that person to carry proof of the certificate and show it to a law enforcement officer on request.
How old do you have to be to drive a snowmobile in Wisconsin?
The statute sets no minimum age. A child under 12 may operate only with a parent, guardian or person over 18 on the same snowmobile, and from 12 the certificate rule applies. Land owned or leased by a parent or guardian is exempt.
How many questions are on the Wisconsin snowmobile safety course test?
Chapter 350 does not say. It sets 6 hours of classroom instruction for students under 16 and gives no question count or pass mark. Exam mode here draws 25 questions, and that length is this site's choice.
Does this cover everything in the snowmobile safety course?
No. It asks what the statutes say, though not from every section. Section 350.055 describes a course on snowmobile laws, regulations, safety and related subjects, so the course material holds what no statute states: riding, ice, weather, signals and first aid.
Is this study guide from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources?
No. This is not a government website, and the department has not reviewed a question. Each answer rests on a section of chapter 350, or of rule NR 6, that you can open and check.
