The CORE exam
Rule 2 CSR 70-25.110(3) lists ten general standards behind the CORE exam, from labels and safety to equipment. This bank covers two of them: state pesticide laws and regulations, and the duties of a certified applicator who supervises noncertified applicators.
The law as of January 1, 2025
Most sections of the Act took their present wording on January 1, 2025, and the noncertified RUP applicator license began that day. The questions use that text and the rules amended the same day.
Exam mode
Exam mode draws 40 questions, our number, at the 70% pass mark of rule 2 CSR 70-25.090. The candidate handbook gives no question count or time limit.
- Three years covers a lot in Missouri: application records, recertification and the public operator license.
- A commercial license runs one year at $65, and a late renewal adds 25 percent.
Questions and answers
Is this the real Missouri pesticide applicator test?
No. It is unofficial practice written for this site from RSMo chapter 281 and 2 CSR 70-25. The real exams are given for the Missouri Department of Agriculture at Pearson VUE test centers, and none of their questions are here.
Is there a pesticide applicator core manual study guide for Missouri?
The February 2025 candidate handbook sends candidates to the study manuals sold by University of Missouri Extension and to the Missouri Pesticide Use Act itself, saying questions from the laws and regulations are on each examination.
What score passes the Missouri pesticide exam?
70 percent or greater on each exam, under 2 CSR 70-25.090(7). A commercial, noncommercial or public operator candidate passes the CORE exam and at least one category exam, and results stay valid for 18 months.
How much does the Missouri pesticide applicator exam cost?
$45 for each exam, paid when you reserve with Pearson VUE, by the February 2025 candidate handbook. The annual license fee is separate: $65 commercial, $35 noncommercial, none for a public operator.
