How it works
This unofficial Ohio certified pesticide applicator practice test asks 65 questions of our own on Revised Code chapter 921 and Administrative Code chapter 901:5-11: licenses, exams, trained servicepersons, records and notices. It is not affiliated with the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

What the core exam covers
The department says both core exams, private and commercial, cover Ohio's laws and regulations, safety procedures, and equipment. This Ohio pesticide core practice test drills the first of those. The federal label and worker protection rules are on the pesticide applicator practice test.
After the core
Every license also needs at least one category exam, such as grain and cereal crops for a private applicator or agronomic pest control for a commercial one. Category subjects are not asked here.
Exam mode
Exam mode draws 20 questions, our number, so each run is a new Ohio pesticide applicator practice exam. The department's license and exam registration pages give no question count or pass mark, so the result is a score with no verdict.
- A trained serviceperson works within 25 miles or two hours of the supervising commercial applicator.
- Lawn signs: five by four inches, bottom edge fourteen inches up, left in place twenty-four hours.
Questions and answers
Is this the real Ohio pesticide applicator test?
No. It is unofficial practice written for this site from Ohio Revised Code chapter 921 and its rules. The real exams are given by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and none of their questions are here.
What is on the Ohio pesticide applicator license test?
A general core examination and one examination for each pesticide-use category applied for, under rule 901:5-11-08. Section 921.12 says the exams cover the chapter, its rules and the proper use, handling and application of pesticides.
Is this an Ohio pesticide applicator study guide for core?
No. The department lists the core study guides on its license pages, and they are sold through Ohio State University Extension. This page checks the law chapters after you have read them.
Is this Ohio pesticide practice test for private or commercial applicators?
Both. Chapter 921 binds both, and a question says so where a rule fits one license only. The private license runs three years to March 31; the commercial one runs a year to September 30.
How soon can I retake an Ohio pesticide exam?
No sooner than five business days after the last attempt, under rule 901:5-11-08(A)(7). A passing core or category score can be re-used for one year while you finish the other.
