What the exam covers
The outline of the Property and Casualty with Workers' Compensation Adjuster exam runs from insurance terms and policy types to workers' compensation (sections 71-3-1 to 71-3-129), adjuster licensing (83-17-401 to 83-17-423), unfair trade practices and cancellation.
Newer than the outline
A 2025 act raised the cancellation and nonrenewal notice of sections 83-5-28 and 83-11-5 from 30 to 45 days for coverage issued or renewed on or after July 1, 2026, and a 2024 act removed the $15 fee for an automobile cancellation appeal. The questions use the newer text.
- A trainee registered with the commissioner may adjust for up to 12 months under a licensed adjuster (Miss. Code Ann. 83-17-403).
- Workers' compensation pays only medical benefits for the first 5 days unless the disability lasts 14 days or more (71-3-11).
- When fire totally destroys an insured building, the measure of damages is the amount it was insured for (83-13-5).
