Seven adjuster exams

Delaware gives separate exams for property, casualty, motor vehicle, marine and transportation, surety, workers compensation and public adjusters.

The part the outlines share

The outlines close with Delaware statutes and regulations on the licensing of adjusters (Title 18, chapter 17), the Commissioner (chapter 3) and insurance ethics, which names unfair claim settlement practices and the Fraud Prevention Bureau. The topics here follow that part. Policy forms and coverages are not asked.

Timed like the casualty exam

The timed test keeps the casualty exam's scored length and clock, with every question on the law.

  • Acknowledge in 15 working days, start investigating in 10, accept or deny within 30 days of proof of loss (18 DE Admin. Code 902).
  • Resident adjusters owe 12 continuing education credits each biennium, 3 of them in ethics (18 DE Admin. Code 504).
  • A public adjuster may charge 2.5 percent of the first $25,000 and up to 12 percent above it (18 Del. C. § 1756).
