The topics follow the Oregon law lines of the content outline for the Oregon Adjuster's Examination, General Lines Insurance, Series 12-07, in the candidate information bulletin of the Division of Financial Regulation (https://dfr.oregon.gov/business/licensing/training-ce/Documents/candidate-bulletin.pdf; outline at https://proctor2.psionline.com/media/programs/or%20ins/12-07.pdf). Property adjusters sit the General Lines exam

Oregon has no property-only adjuster exam. ORS 744.531 puts property and casualty in one class, with marine and transportation and surety, and the exam for that class is General Lines, Series 12-07. Health and crop adjusters sit their own exams.

Newer law than the outline

The outline cites ORS 744.002 to 744.028 for renewal, expiration and notices. Those sections were repealed in 2019. The questions ask their replacements, ORS 744.518 to 744.584, and the claim rules of OAR 836-080-0205 to 836-080-0240. Policy forms are not asked.

  • Acknowledge a claim by day 30, finish investigating by day 45, accept or deny by day 30 after proofs of loss (OAR 836-080-0225 to 0235).
  • An adjuster keeps the records of each transaction for three years after it concludes (ORS 744.578).
  • An insurer may not require a particular shop for motor vehicle repairs (ORS 746.280).

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the Oregon adjuster exam?

The General Lines adjuster exam, Series 12-07, has 150 questions and a 2.5-hour time limit, and the candidate information bulletin sets the pass mark at 70 percent correct. The timed test on this page is half that length at the same pace.

How many hours of continuing education does an Oregon adjuster need?

A minimum of 24 hours for each renewal, with three hours of ethics and three hours of Oregon law or of subjects the licensee's home state requires (ORS 744.521).

Is this Oregon adjuster practice test free?

Yes. All 86 questions are open, and your answers stay in your browser. The questions were written for this page from the statutes and rules; none comes from the exam, and the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation did not write or review them.
