How this list was compiled: The Public Adjusters' Licensing Act, N.J.S.A. 17:22B-1 to 17:22B-20 (P.L.1993, c.66, as amended through P.L.2025, c.84), and the New Jersey Insurance Fraud Prevention Act, N.J.S.A. 17:33A-4, 17:33A-5 and 17:33A-9, read on October 12, 2026 in the New Jersey Legislature's statutes database (https://lis.njleg.state.nj.us/nxt/gateway.dll?f=templates&fn=default.htm&vid=Publish:10.1048/Enu; text file of October 10, 2026 from https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/). The topics follow section 4.0, Public Adjustment Licensing Act, of the content outline for the New Jersey Public Adjuster Examination, which the examination administrator for the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance publishes at https://proctor2.psionline.com/programs/NJINS/PublicAdjustermarch29.pdf. Each question names its section. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the text of the law. Which part of the exam this is

The outline has 70 items in four parts. Part 4, the Public Adjustment Licensing Act, has 20. The other 50 are property loss adjusting, insurance terms and policy forms, which are not asked here. Neither are the department's rules at N.J.A.C. 11:1-37.

The contract law changed in 2025

P.L.2025, c.84 added N.J.S.A. 17:22B-13.1: a written contract in duplicate, a separate notice of the right to cancel, and three terms a percentage-fee contract on a dwelling may not contain. The questions follow the amended text.

  • No soliciting and no contract between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. during the 24 hours after a loss (N.J.S.A. 17:22B-13).
  • Settlement money goes into an escrow account and stays the insured's property until it is disbursed (N.J.S.A. 17:22B-13(f)).
  • The bond is $10,000, and the Attorney General approves its form (N.J.S.A. 17:22B-12).
