What the real exam holds
The Tennessee Title Insurance outline has seven parts: Tennessee laws and rules, 10 questions; general insurance terms and contract law, 10; title insurance policies, 10; real estate ownership, 4; rights and interests, 4; legal descriptions, 4; methods of transfer and conveyances, 8.
What is asked here, and what is not
The Tennessee law part is asked from the Title Insurance Law, the producer licensing sections the outline cites and the Department's title insurance rules. Ownership, deeds, registration, liens and redemption are asked from Title 66. Policy forms, legal descriptions and general insurance theory are not asked.
Where the law was read
Most sections were read in a public copy of the Tennessee Code dated May 21, 2021, and later acts were searched for changes. Each question links to its copy, act or rule.
Controlled business may bring in no more than 40 percent of a title agency's gross operating revenues (T.C.A. 56-35-131).

Since July 1, 2026, the settlement agency the purchaser selected on the contract issues the title insurance on one-to-four unit residences (T.C.A. 56-35-135).
