Four subareas, 24 competencies
The framework, opened October 15, 2026, gives Marketing Principles 21%, Sales, Promotions, and Merchandise Control 25%, Economics, Business, and Entrepreneurship 29%, and Employment, Communication, and Problem-Solving Skills 25%. The bank's 11, 12, 15 and 12 questions touch every competency at least twice.
Oklahoma in the questions
Two answers come straight from the Oklahoma Statutes: the 4.5% state sales tax used in a discount problem, and the Consumer Protection Act's definition of bait and switch advertising.
Marketing math
Competency 0022 is arithmetic: markups, discounts, change, hours worked. Market share, shrinkage and wage problems appear here with every step worked in the explanation.
The last competency is about the teacher's job: DECA and other student organizations, and partnerships with business and industry.
