How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the test framework of the Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT) field 085, Special Education Comprehensive Assessment, as the site of the Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators prints it (https://www.ceoe.nesinc.com/Content/StudyGuide/OK_SG_OBJ_085.htm and the test page https://www.ceoe.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/OK085_TestPage.html, read 2026-10-12): selected response, Understanding development and learning across the continuum, 17%; Assessing all learners, managing transitions, and developing IEPs and IFSPs, 21%; Learning across the curriculum, 30%; Working in a collaborative learning community, 17%; and one constructed-response case study, 15%; 80 selected-response questions and 1 constructed-response assignment, passing score 240. This bank holds 50 selected-response questions, spread 10, 12, 18 and 10 over the four selected-response subareas. Every fact was read on 2026-10-12 in the public page named under its question: the Oklahoma State Department of Education's Special Education Policies and Procedures 2026; the Code of Federal Regulations (34 CFR Parts 300 and 303, the IDEA regulations); and the Wikipedia article named for each remaining question. OSAT Special Education (085): four selected-response subareas

By the framework read October 12, 2026: development and learning across the continuum, 17% of the test; assessment, transitions, IEPs and IFSPs, 21%; learning across the curriculum, 30%; a collaborative learning community, 17%. This bank holds 10, 12, 18 and 10. The other 15% is one written case study on a student's data, which nothing here practices.

Oklahoma's figures, not only the federal ones

Twenty questions come from the Oklahoma State Department of Education's 2026 policies and procedures, where the state sets its own figure: transition services by the 15th birthday or ninth grade, Developmental Delays for ages 3 through 9, a discrepancy of 1.5 standard deviations counted as severe.

  • Oklahoma sets 45 school days for the initial eligibility decision; the federal 60 days applies only where a state sets no timeframe.
  • Competency 0002 turns on definitions and eligibility criteria, so read the category definitions in 34 CFR 300.8 closely.

Questions and answers

Which OSAT special education test do these questions follow?

The CEOE test list has Special Education Comprehensive Assessment (085), Mild-Moderate Disabilities (129) and Severe-Profound/Multiple Disabilities (131), beside the Blind/Visual Impairment and Deaf/Hard of Hearing fields. These questions follow the framework of 085. Fields 129 and 131 have frameworks of their own.

How many questions are on the OSAT Special Education Comprehensive Assessment?

Eighty selected-response questions and one constructed-response assignment, by the test page. Testing time is 4 hours at a test center or 3 hours with an online proctor, after a 15-minute tutorial; the online session allows no breaks.

What is the passing score for the OSAT special education test?

240, on a scale from 100 to 300. The selected-response section and the written case study both count toward it, so a number right on this page cannot be turned into a scaled score.

How soon can you retake an OSAT special education test?

The CEOE retake policy names fields 085, 129 and 131 among the OSATs with a 30-day wait before the same test may be taken again. Other OSATs wait 60 days.

Are there free practice OSAT special education tests?

This one is free, with no sign-up. The CEOE site says registration also brings access to a free online practice test; none of its questions, and none of the study guide's samples, is repeated here.
