What test 070 covers

The framework, read October 8, 2026, has four content domains, each about 25% of the score: Understanding Students with Disabilities; Assessment and Program Development; Promoting Development and Learning; and Foundations and Professional Practice. Twelve objectives sit under them.

Why the answers cite Washington rules

Washington writes its own special education rules in chapter 392-172A WAC, with its own numbers: 25 school days to decide on a referral, 35 school days to evaluate. 31 questions cite that chapter by section. The rest cite federal rules, a Supreme Court opinion, federal practice guides, NIDCD and two national centers.

Timing

Exam mode asks all 44 questions in 54 minutes, the same time per question as the real test.

  • Learn the numbers the rules name: 25, 35 and 45 school days, 15 days, two years.

Questions and answers

Is this WEST-E Special Education practice test the real exam?

No. The questions were written for this site from the published framework and public sources. None repeats or rewords a real question or a study guide sample, and a result here is not a forecast of your score.

How many questions are on the WEST-E Special Education test?

110 multiple-choice questions, each with four answer choices. Testing time is 2 hours and 15 minutes, plus 15 minutes for a tutorial and nondisclosure agreement.

What is the passing score for WEST-E Special Education?

240, on a scale from 100 to 300. The study guide says results are based on the number of questions answered correctly, with no penalty for guessing. This page reports a count of right answers, not a scaled score.

Does Washington still give the WEST-E for special education?

Yes, as of October 8, 2026. The exam's list of tests offers WEST-E Special Education, code 070, and WEST-E Early Childhood Special Education, code 071. It also lists National Evaluation Series tests for other endorsements, so check which test your program requires.
