How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the test design and framework of the Oklahoma General Education Test (field 174) in the study guide of the Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators, read 2026-10-09: https://www.ceoe.nesinc.com/Content/StudyGuide/OK_SG_OBJ_174.htm (Subarea I, Reading and Written Communication, competencies 0001 to 0007, 38% of the test; Subarea II, Mathematics, 0008 to 0012, 26%; Subarea III, Information Literacy and Research, 0013 to 0015, 16%; Subarea IV, Applied Writing Skills, 0016, a writing assignment, 20%). The bank holds 28, 20 and 12 questions for the three selected-response subareas, four for each competency; the real test has 100 selected-response questions. Reading passages and scenarios are our own and each answer is in their wording. Writing and research rules were read on 2026-10-09 in the handouts of the Writing Center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Purdue Online Writing Lab, the MIT Libraries search guide, the U.S. Copyright Office and the National Archives. Statistics terms were read in the NIST/SEMATECH e-Handbook of Statistical Methods, two geometry facts in Wikipedia, and the cylinder formula on the formula sheet the program publishes for the test. Arithmetic is worked in each explanation. Licence: Questions, passages, choices and explanations are original work of this site.
How it works
This free, unofficial CEOE practice test follows the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET): 28 reading and writing questions, 20 mathematics and 12 research. It is not affiliated with Oklahoma's Office of Educational Quality and Accountability or Pearson.
Read the full guide
Which tests the CEOE program holds
By the program's test list, read October 9, 2026: the Oklahoma General Education Test (174), the Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT), Foundations of Reading (890) and the Assessment of Professional Knowledge, elementary (053) and secondary (054).
What the OGET covers
Three selected-response subareas: Reading and Written Communication, seven competencies and 38% of the test; Mathematics, five and 26%; Information Literacy and Research, three and 16%. A writing assignment is the other 20%. This bank asks four questions on each competency and none on the writing assignment.
Where the answers come from
Reading passages are our own, so each answer is in the passage. Grammar and research rules cite university writing handouts and the U.S. Copyright Office. Mathematics is worked step by step.
The real test supplies a sheet of mathematics definitions and formulas, so practice applying a formula, not memorizing it.
In an online-proctored sitting you cannot return to the questions after the break before the writing assignment.
Questions and answers
Is the OGET still required for Oklahoma teacher certification?
No. The program's OGET page, read October 9, 2026, says that since May 5, 2022 Oklahoma educator certification has not required the test. The test is still given, so ask your program or the state whether you need it.
How many questions are on the OGET?
100 selected-response questions plus 1 writing assignment. A test center gives 4 hours of testing time. Online proctoring gives 3 hours for the questions and 1 hour for the writing, with an optional 15-minute break between them.
What is a passing score on the OGET?
240, by the program's test page. The selected-response questions make up 80% of that score and the writing assignment 20%, so a count of right answers on this page does not convert to it.
Do free CEOE practice tests use real exam questions?
Not this one. All 60 questions and every passage were written for this site from the published OGET framework. Nothing is taken or reworded from the real test, its sample questions or the paid practice test, and a result here does not forecast a score.
What CEOE tests do I need to take?
The program's site does not list them by certificate. It sends candidates to the Teacher Certification Division of the Oklahoma State Department of Education, so confirm your required tests there before you register.
