How it works
Unofficial practice for Nevada's jurisprudence examination, the NVJAM. It is not affiliated with the Nevada Physical Therapy Board, and every question is our own, written from NRS chapter 640 and the Board's regulations in NAC chapter 640.

Grouped by the law the exam covers
The Board publishes no outline of the NVJAM, only that it is open book and covers the laws, regulations and practice standards for physical therapy in Nevada. So the questions are grouped by that law: definitions, the Board, licensure and renewal, practice and supervision, and discipline.
What is particular to Nevada
Licenses renew every year, and the exam comes with each renewal. Dry needling takes 150 hours of training and a signed consent form. Regulation R124-21, filed April 19, 2024, amends much of NAC 640, and the Code the Legislature posts did not yet show it when checked.
- The supervision limits are in NAC 640.594: two assistants, two technicians, two students, two graduates, three in any combination.
- While the supervising therapist is off the premises, an assistant treats no more than three patients at the same time.
Questions and answers
Is the Nevada physical therapy jurisprudence exam open book?
Yes. The Board's renewal page calls the NV Jurisprudence Exam, or NVJAM, a free open-book examination on the laws, regulations and practice standards that govern physical therapy in the State of Nevada.
Who has to take the Nevada jurisprudence exam?
Every licensee, as a condition of renewal each year (regulation R124-21, section 13). Applicants for a license complete it under NAC 640.020 as amended, and the Board's compact page asks for it before a compact privilege.
How many questions are on the NVJAM?
The Board publishes no question count, time limit or pass mark, so this page gives none. Its renewal page says the exam appears in the Licensee Portal once a renewal is begun and cannot be completed before then.
Is this the real Nevada jurisprudence exam?
No. It is unofficial practice written from Nevada statutes and regulations. The Nevada Physical Therapy Board did not write or review this page, and none of the exam's questions appear here.
