What the 6th grade EOG math practice test covers

The questions follow the five domains and weights of the state's test specifications. Ratios and Proportional Relationships is 24 to 28 percent: ratio language, unit rates, ratio tables and percents. Expressions and Equations is 22 to 26 percent: exponents, equivalent expressions, one-step equations and inequalities. The Number System is 20 to 24 percent: dividing fractions, decimals, factors, integers and the coordinate plane. Geometry and Statistics and Probability are 12 to 16 percent each: area, volume, nets, center and spread.

A 6th grade math EOG study guide, one domain a day

Work ten questions from a single domain each day. Every answer names its standard, such as NC.6.RP.4 for percents. Write down the standards you miss and try those questions again two days later.

  • On percent questions, find 10% first. Most other percents can be built from it.
