What the CNA test in MA covers
The Massachusetts candidate handbook, dated May 2026 and read October 12, 2026, spreads 60 questions over twelve subject areas, from 9 on role and responsibility and 8 on basic nursing skills to 2 on data collection. The bank holds the same counts.
Massachusetts's own rules
Ten more questions cover the test and the registry, among them 75 hours of training, four months to be listed once hired and renewal every 24 months.
Where the answers come from
44 questions are checked against Massachusetts's rules for long-term care facilities, abuse reporting and aide training (105 CMR 150, 155 and 156) and General Laws chapter 111, section 70E. The rest name the handbook, the Department's page, the CDC, an NIH institute or MedlinePlus.
Massachusetts's rules have bedfast residents helped to change position at least every two hours during waking hours, 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
