What the real exams ask
The department's licensing page, read October 12, 2026, says its General Standards exam and its Private Pesticide Applicator exam cover federal training requirements and the Louisiana pesticide laws and regulations. This page practices the Louisiana part. Federal label and worker protection rules are on the pesticide applicator practice test.
Private or commercial
One law binds both, so this works as a Louisiana private pesticide applicator test and as commercial practice. Commercial applicators also pass a category exam, which is not here.
Exam mode
Exam mode draws 30 questions, our number, and marks a pass at the rule's 70 percent. The department's pages give no question count or time limit.
- Three years recurs: certification, application records and dealer sales records.
- A spill over one gallon, or four pounds dry, is reported by telephone within 24 hours and in writing within three days.
Questions and answers
Is this the real Louisiana pesticide applicator test?
No. It is unofficial practice written for this site from the Louisiana Pesticide Law and the Title 7, Part XXIII rules. The real examinations are given by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, and none of their questions are here.
What score do you need to pass the Louisiana pesticide exam?
Seventy percent. LAC 7:XXIII.701.B sets 70 percent as the minimum score for every certification examination, and the department's exam application repeats it. Applicants must be at least 18.
How much does the Louisiana pesticide applicator exam cost?
The department's exam application, revised September 2025, charges $50 for the private applicator exam and $50 for each commercial category exam. The commercial General Standards exam is given at no charge. Online testing adds a fee paid to the testing vendor.
How do I get a Louisiana private pesticide applicator certification?
Two ways, by the department's licensing page: complete the private applicator certification training given at LSU AgCenter offices, or pass the Private Pesticide Applicator exam. Certification is valid for three years under R.S. 3:3241.
Where do I take the Louisiana pesticide exam?
The department's licensing page says that from November 2025 it tests in person only at its main office in Baton Rouge, and remotely through an online vendor. The exam application must reach the department with payment before an exam is scheduled.
