What the Kentucky barber written exam is
The Kentucky Board of Barbering gives its own examination, and the written test comes with the apprentice examination.
What this page practices
Regulation 201 KAR 14:115 says the written examination covers all subjects set forth in the regulations relating to barbers, 201 KAR Chapter 14. This bank asks that chapter and KRS Chapter 317: sanitation, shops, licenses, examinations, schools and the Board. Hair and skin theory is not asked.
Bleach is mixed daily, nine parts tap water to one part bleach, and tools stay immersed ten minutes or longer (201 KAR 14:085).
The apprentice period runs six to nine months, at an average of 20 hours or more a week (KRS 317.450; 201 KAR 14:050).
Sponges, lump alum, styptic pencils and non-disposable powder puffs are prohibited in shops and schools (201 KAR 14:085).
