Where Georgia parts from the federal rule
The federal rule is often one of the wrong choices. Georgia's Governor has six days to veto a bill in session and 40 days after adjournment, and may veto one appropriation in a bill. Conviction on impeachment takes two-thirds of all Senate seats, not of those present. An amendment needs two-thirds of each house, then a majority of the voters.
What the 120 Georgia questions cover
Six topics: the Bill of Rights has 26, the General Assembly 22, the executive branch 21. The print read is the one revised March 2019, so the courts (Article VI), taxation (Article VII) and wording amended since are left out.
Georgia counts seats, not members present: passing a bill, overriding a veto and convicting on impeachment all count every seat.
Ages: 21 for the House, 25 for the Senate and the other elected executive officers, 30 for Governor.
Questions and answers
Who has to meet the Georgia constitution requirement?
Under O.C.G.A. 20-3-68, no undergraduate at a college or university supported by public funds receives a degree without completing course work or passing a satisfactory examination on United States and Georgia history and both constitutions.
Is this GA Constitution study guide a college's examination?
No. This page is not affiliated with the University System of Georgia or any college, and nobody here has seen a college's examination. The questions were written from the constitution's text, and no teacher has checked the answers yet.
Which parts of the Georgia Constitution are left out?
Article VI on the courts and Article VII on taxation, both amended since the March 2019 print, and a few paragraphs amended later. Georgia history is not covered either: this page is the constitution half of the requirement.
Where do the 20 federal questions come from?
They sample the US Constitution under their own topic, since the requirement names both constitutions. The US Constitution practice test on this site holds the full federal bank.
