What the 7th grade Forward Exam asks in math

The blueprint spreads 48 points over five reporting categories. Three carry 10 to 12 points each. Ratios and Proportional Relationships: unit rates with fractions, constants of proportionality, tax, interest and percent change. The Number System: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing negative numbers. Expressions and Equations: equivalent expressions, two-step equations and inequalities. Statistics and Probability has 7 to 9 points: random samples and chance. Geometry has 6 to 8: scale drawings, circles, angles and volume.

Sessions with and without a calculator

The first of the three sessions, 17 questions, allows no calculator. The other two have the test's built-in calculator. Work the fraction, decimal and negative-number questions here by hand. Each answer names its standard, such as M.7.RP.A.3, in the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics (2021).
