How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the test design and framework of Oklahoma Subject Area Tests field 104, Chemistry, in the study guide on the Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators website (https://www.ceoe.nesinc.com/Content/StudyGuide/OK_SG_OBJ_104.htm, copyright 2023 Office of Educational Quality and Accountability and Pearson Education, Inc.; test page https://www.ceoe.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/OK104_TestPage.html, read 2026-10-13): 80 selected-response questions and 1 constructed-response assignment in 4 hours, passing score 240, an on-screen scientific calculator and a periodic table provided; selected response weighs Structure and Properties of Matter (competencies 0001 to 0005) 39%, Chemical Reactions (0006 to 0009) 29% and Energy Changes (0010 to 0011) 17%, and the constructed response (0012) 15%. The bank holds 50: 23, 17 and 10, with four or five for each of the eleven selected-response competencies. Every rule and fact was read in the Wikipedia article and section named under its question, and each calculation was worked a second time from the numbers in the question. What OSAT Chemistry (104) weighs most

Field 104's framework, read on the CEOE site on October 13, 2026, gives Structure and Properties of Matter 39% of the test, Chemical Reactions 29% and Energy Changes 17%. The 50 questions here keep that order: 23, 17 and 10.

The written 15% is not practiced here

The last 15% of the test is one written assignment, and no question here practices it. Each calculation states the atomic masses and constants it needs, so a round can be worked without a periodic table.

  • Competency 0005, states of matter, names three gas relationships: the ideal gas law, Dalton's law of partial pressures and the van der Waals equation.

Questions and answers

How many questions are on the OSAT Chemistry test?

Field 104 has 80 selected-response questions and one constructed-response assignment, the test page says, with 4 hours of testing after a 15-minute tutorial. A form may include trial questions that do not affect the score.

What is the passing score for OSAT Chemistry?

240, by the test page. The written assignment counts toward it, so a count of right answers here has no scaled equivalent, and a round ends with no pass or fail.

Do you get a periodic table on the OSAT Chemistry test?

Yes. The test page lists a periodic table and an on-screen scientific calculator as provided with the test. It adds that the written assignment may be answered by hand and scanned.

What is on the OSAT Chemistry test?

Atomic structure, periodic trends, bonding, mixtures and states of matter; then reaction types, stoichiometry, kinetics and equilibrium; then energy changes and thermodynamics. The written assignment adds a laboratory investigation, safe chemical storage and disposal included.

Is OSAT Chemistry a CEOE test?

Yes. The Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators list Chemistry, field 104, among the Oklahoma Subject Area Tests, apart from Physical Science (113) and Physics (114).
