How it works
This unofficial Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology practice test asks state law only: the Board's rules (OAC 175:10) and the Cosmetology and Barbering Act with its 2026 amendment, House Bill 3000, read October 12, 2026. Theory is left out.

What the Oklahoma questions cover
Almost half the questions are sanitation: wet sanitizers and contact time, bleach, linens and towel warmers, pedicure tubs, waxing, lashes, blood and universal precautions. Then come establishments and inspections, examinations and reciprocity, renewal, scope of practice, fines and the Board.
Which Oklahoma test this bank fits
A school graduate takes a national theory examination and a practical; neither is here. The Board itself gives state-specific safety and sanitation exams, and a licensee from another state must pass Oklahoma's state rules, regulations and law test (59 O.S. 199.13). Instructor tests carry law and rule questions too (OAC 175:10-9-25).
- Immersion liquid is changed daily, or sooner if visibly contaminated (OAC 175:10-7-6).
- Styptic pencils, lump alum, roll-on wax, credo blades and UV light boxes for sanitation are each prohibited (OAC 175:10-7).
- Bleach used to disinfect needs a 5-minute contact time and a manufacture date under 6 months old (OAC 175:10-7-6).
Questions and answers
Is there a free Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology practice test?
Yes, on Oklahoma law: every question here is free and shows the rule or section behind its answer. The Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering did not write or review the page.
What is on the Oklahoma cosmetology state law test?
Neither the Act nor the Board's exams page prints its topics or a question count. Its name is the outline: Oklahoma's state rules, regulations and law, which are what this page asks.
What score passes the Oklahoma state board cosmetology exam?
Seventy-five percent on each portion of the licensing examination (OAC 175:10-9-25). The rules give the same mark to the threading safety and sanitation examination and none to the reciprocity law test, so this page gives a score and no verdict.
Are these real Oklahoma State Board exam questions?
No. None comes from an examination or a question pool. Each was written for this site from the public text of the Board's rules and the Act.
