A practice test for the Montana broker exam, in the outline's counts
The Montana content outline effective January 1, 2025 gives brokers 40 scored state questions: the licensing agency's powers 2, licensing 2, requirements governing the activities of licensees 26, additional topics 4 and additional broker topics 6. This bank holds each topic at that count.
The six broker-only questions
Six of the 40 are asked of brokers alone: trust accounts, supervision, place of business and recordkeeping. They rest on the Board's rules on trust accounts, supervision and record retention and on the statute on a broker's office. The trust account rule is the one in force since February 21, 2026.
Money belonging to others goes into a trust account within three business days unless the parties agree otherwise (ARM 24.210.427).
A salesperson's listing agreement is not valid until the supervising broker has reviewed, signed and dated it (ARM 24.210.607).
Supervising salespersons takes a supervising broker endorsement on top of an active broker license (MCA 37-51-301).
