What the ILEARN practice test for 7th grade math covers

Four reporting categories make up the grade 7 blueprint, and this set matches their weights. Algebra and Functions with Ratios and Proportional Reasoning, the largest, has 14 questions: unit rates, percents, equivalent expressions, equations, inequalities and slope. Geometry, measurement, data and probability has 12: scale drawings, circles, cylinders, samples, mean absolute deviation and chance. Number Sense has 9 on signed numbers, prime factors and square roots. Mathematical Processes has 5.

Indiana grade 7 ISTEP practice test, or ILEARN?

ISTEP practice tests for 7th grade now mean ILEARN practice: the only grade 7 mathematics blueprint Indiana publishes is ILEARN's. Under each answer is its 2023 Indiana Academic Standard, such as 7.RP.2. ILEARN is a computer-adaptive test, and this practice runs online too, with no sign-up.

  • Only three formulas are printed on the grade 7 reference sheet: circle area, circumference and cylinder volume.

Questions and answers

Do 7th graders in Indiana still take ISTEP?

Not under that name. The Indiana Department of Education's assessment programs list ILEARN, not ISTEP+, for grades 3 to 8. Seventh graders take three ILEARN Checkpoints across the year and a summative test in the April to May window.

How many questions are on the 7th grade ILEARN math test?

The summative test at the end of the year has 32 to 37 items that count, and each of the three Checkpoints has 20 to 25. The numbers are ranges because a computer-adaptive test picks items for each student.

Is a calculator allowed on 7th grade ILEARN math?

For most standards, yes: an online scientific calculator is provided. Nine standards are marked non-calculator in the blueprint: 7.NS.1 to 7.NS.7, 7.AF.1 and 7.AF.2.

What score is proficient on 7th grade ILEARN math?

On the grade 7 scale of 438 to 794, At Proficiency begins at 605 and Above Proficiency at 669. Approaching Proficiency begins at 549. A percent right on practice questions cannot be turned into a scale score.
