Which license
Idaho licenses professional applicators, private applicators, chemigators and dealers. Every professional license carries the Applicator Core Competency category, with a category for each kind of work. A commercial apprentice license covers general use pesticides only.
What this bank covers
The state law: who needs which license, recertification, wind, bee and 2,4-D restrictions, storage, chemigation, records and penalties. Federal label and worker protection rules are on the pesticide applicator practice test.
Mock exam length
The rule prints no question count and no time limit, so a mock exam here is 40 questions, our number.
- A professional applicator recertifies with 40 credits in the five-year term; a private applicator with 15.
- Application records are kept two years; dealer records and noncertified applicator training records three.
- Where a label gives no wind limit, the rule stops applications in sustained wind over 10 miles per hour.
Questions and answers
Is this the real Idaho pesticide applicator test?
No. It is unofficial practice written for this site from the Idaho statute and rule. The real exams are proctored by Idaho State Department of Agriculture staff or an authorized agent, and none of their questions are here.
What score passes the Idaho pesticide applicator exam?
Seventy percent, the minimum score in IDAPA 02.03.03.100.03. A failed exam can be retaken after a one-day wait, and a passing score stays valid for twelve months from the examination date.
How much is an Idaho pesticide applicator license?
IDAPA 02.03.03.280 sets $300 for a professional applicator license, $120 for a commercial apprentice, $25 for a private applicator and $50 for a chemigation license. The rule's examination fee is $10 per examination category.
How long is an Idaho pesticide applicator license good for?
Five years for professional, private and chemigation licenses. Professional licenses expire December 31 of the fifth year; private and chemigation licenses expire March 31. A commercial apprentice license expires two years from issuance and is non-renewable.
What does Idaho name as study material for the core exam?
The department's Study Material Guide lists the Idaho Pesticide Applicator Training Manual and the WPS Quick Reference Guide for Applicator Core Competency. This page practices the law and rules only.
