Certificate or license
A certificate, from a general exam and, for non-private applicators, category exams, covers restricted-use pesticides. A license as an applicator is for pest control for hire: principals pass a core exam, a Nevada law exam and a category exam.
What this bank covers
The Nevada law behind both: who needs a license or certificate, exam and renewal rules, supervision and trainees, records and reports, operating rules and the fine schedule. Federal label and worker protection rules are on the pesticide applicator practice test.
Length of a mock exam
The Department's page gives the private applicator exam 80 questions. A mock exam here is 40 questions, our number.
- Poisoning reports differ: 48 hours for a pest control licensee under NAC 555.410, 24 hours for a non-private applicator under NAC 555.413.
- A certified applicator contacts anyone under direct supervision at least once an hour at night and once every 2 hours in daylight.
Questions and answers
Is this the real Nevada pesticide applicator test?
No. It is unofficial practice written for this site from the Nevada Revised Statutes and the Nevada Administrative Code. The real exams are given by the Nevada Department of Agriculture, and none of their questions are here.
What score passes the Nevada pesticide applicator exam?
70 percent on each certification exam, by NAC 555.670. For a pest control license, NAC 555.340 sets 70 percent for a principal and 65 percent for an operator. A failed certification exam can be retaken after 5 working days.
How much does the Nevada pesticide applicator test cost?
NAC 555.690 sets a $50 fee for each examination period for a certificate, and the Department's certification page gives the same figure. For a pest control license, NAC 555.397 sets $50 for each initial exam and $35 for a reexamination.
How long is a Nevada pesticide applicator certificate good for?
Four years from the date the exam was passed, by the Department's certification page. NAC 555.685 lets a holder renew with 12 units of continuing education in those four years, 2 of them on laws and regulations, or by passing the exams again.
Is there a study guide for the Nevada pesticide applicator test?
The Department's certification page points applicators to study material and names the Nevada Pesticide Applicator's Certification Workbook. Nothing here is taken from it; this page practices the statute and regulations only.
