How this list was compiled: Our own questions on the rules the Georgia Board of Dentistry's Jurisprudence Examination is drawn from. Rules 150-3-.01(2) and 150-5-.02(4), read on 2026-10-16, require every applicant for a dental or dental hygiene license to pass a jurisprudence examination on the laws and rules governing practice in Georgia; the Board's Dental FAQs page (https://gbd.georgia.gov/faqs-other-information/dental-faqs, opened 2026-10-16) says a score of 75 or higher passes, that the examination may be taken as an open book exam and that the score is valid for one year. The Board publishes no content outline, so the five topics here are this site's own sorting. Every fact was read on 2026-10-16 in the Rules of the Georgia Board of Dentistry, Chapter 150, on the Georgia Secretary of State's rules site (https://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/150), which the Board's Laws, Policies and Rules page links to. Each question names its rule and links to its chapter. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site, written from the public text of the Rules of the Georgia Board of Dentistry. Nothing is taken from the Board's Jurisprudence Examination, a prep company or a review book.

Questions and answers

Is there a Georgia dental jurisprudence study guide?

The Board names none. Its Dental FAQs say the examination and the law and rules governing dentistry in Georgia can be obtained on the Board's website. This page turns the Board's rules into practice questions, each naming the rule to read.

What score passes the Georgia dental jurisprudence exam?

A score of 75 or higher, under Rule 150-3-.01(2) and the Board's Dental FAQs. The score is valid for one year. A mock run here asks 25 questions and applies the 75 mark, with no clock.

Is the Georgia dental jurisprudence exam open book?

Yes. The Board's Dental FAQs say the Jurisprudence Examination may be taken as an open book exam, so it helps to know which chapter of the rules holds a subject.

Who has to take the Georgia jurisprudence exam?

Every candidate for a license to practice dentistry (Rule 150-3-.01) and every applicant for a dental hygiene license (Rule 150-5-.02). The Board's Dental FAQs also list it for licensure by credentials and for reinstatement.

Is this the Board's examination?

No. The questions were written for this site from the public rules, never from the examination. The Georgia Board of Dentistry has not reviewed this page.
