What is left out
Law only, and each question cites its section or rule. Fees, anesthesia and sedation permits, controlled substance record rules, mobile dental facilities and professional corporations are not asked. The continuing education questions follow Rule 270-X-4-.04 as the new rule effective October 15, 2026. Practice for an exam, not medical advice.
- Patient records are kept at least five years from the last professional contact (Rule 270-X-2-.26).
- An Alabama dental hygienist works only under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist (Ala. Code 34-9-27).
Questions and answers
Does Alabama have a dental jurisprudence exam?
Yes. The Board's licensure page says an applicant whose packet is approved must take a jurisprudence test online before the license is sent. Ala. Code 34-9-10 also requires a written jurisprudence examination for licensure by credentials.
How many questions are on the Alabama dental jurisprudence exam?
The Board's licensure page and rules give no question count, time limit or pass mark, so this page does not guess them. A mock run here asks 25 questions and gives a score with no verdict.
What does the Alabama dental jurisprudence exam cover?
The Board publishes no outline. Its site links the texts it enforces: the Alabama Dental Practice Act, Code of Alabama Title 34, Chapter 9, and the Board's rules, Administrative Code Chapter 270-X. This page drills both and names the section after each answer.
How many continuing education hours do Alabama dentists need?
Twenty CEUs for each twelve months of the renewal cycle, with at least one each in prescribing controlled substances, ethics and infectious disease control. Dental hygienists owe twelve. Rule 270-X-4-.04 applies from the cycle beginning October 1, 2026.
Is this the Board's test?
No. The questions were written for this site from the public statutes and rules, never from the test. The Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama has not reviewed this page.
