How it works
This unofficial 3 point turn road test practice sheet lists the steps the New Jersey Driver Manual (revised April 2026) prints for the turn, hill parking, backing and parallel parking. Your own state's manual and examiner decide your test.

How to do a 3 point turn for the driving test, one step at a time
1. Press Print blank sheet, then pick Backing and parallel parking and print that sheet as well.
2. The learner drives one maneuver. The supervising driver your permit requires speaks up or takes over the moment it is needed.
3. Once the car is parked, the supervising driver types 1 beside each step that was missed.
4. The bottom row adds up each attempt. The step with the most 1s is the one to practice next; a sheet holds up to six attempts.
- A k turn driving test and a 3 point driving test are one maneuver; the manual prints both names together.
- The manual suggests flags or markers 25 feet apart in an empty parking lot for early parallel parking practice.
Questions and answers
How to do a three point turn on road test day?
The New Jersey Driver Manual's steps: start at the right edge, signal left when no traffic is near, move forward slowly turning left, stop inches from the left curb, back slowly turning right, stop inches from the right curb, then move forward and straighten.
What is checked in a parking on a hill driving test?
The manual prints two cases for a street with a curb: facing downhill, wheels toward the curb; facing uphill, wheels away from it, with the hand brake set each time. Its list of road test items names parallel parking, not hill parking.
Is driving test reverse parking on this sheet?
The second sheet covers the two backing tasks the manual describes: driving in reverse in a straight line for about 100 feet, and parallel parking. The manual prints no steps for backing into a marked bay, so the sheet has none.
Does the sheet give a pass mark?
No. The manual lists the items an examiner tests but prints no point values and no pass line, so none is made up here. It does say a new motorist will have to make the 3-point turn and must be able to parallel park.
Is this the official road test form?
No. It is our own practice sheet, in our own words, written from one state manual's published steps. No motor vehicle agency issued it, and examiners use their own forms. Your state's current driver manual says what your test includes.
