What the test covers

Test 5001 is four subtests, by the Study Companion read October 9, 2026: Reading and Language Arts (5002), Mathematics (5003), Social Studies (5004) and Science (5005). This bank holds 20, 12, 15 and 13 questions, close to each subtest's share of the real test.

Timing

Exam mode asks all 60 questions in 67 minutes, the overall pace of the real test. On the real test each subtest has a clock of its own.

Where the answers come from

Each explanation names the public page its fact was read on: the Common Core standards, the National Archives, NOAA, NASA, the U.S. Geological Survey and others. Every mathematics answer is recomputed. The personal health topics of the science subtest are left out.

  • ETS provides an on-screen scientific calculator for the mathematics and science subtests.
  • The real mathematics subtest also has numeric-entry questions. Here every question has four choices and one right answer.

Questions and answers

Is this Praxis II practice test 5001 the real exam?

No. All 60 questions were written for this site from the ETS content topics for test 5001. None repeats or rewords a real test question or an ETS sample question, and a result here does not forecast a real score.

How many questions are on the Praxis 5001?

About 245: 80 in 90 minutes for reading and language arts, 50 in 65 for mathematics, 60 in 60 for social studies and 55 in 60 for science. ETS says some questions may not count toward your score.

What does this 5001 Praxis practice test cover?

The subjects themselves, at the level an elementary teacher needs: phonics terms, grammar, fractions, equations, founding documents, geography, rocks, cells and forces. Praxis 5017 is the test that asks how those subjects are taught.

What score do I need to pass Praxis 5001?

ETS sets no passing score. Your state or licensing agency sets a qualifying score, so look up its requirement before test day. The result here is the number right, with no verdict.
