What the bank covers
ETS counts 30 questions on listening, 30 on reading and 15 on cultural knowledge, by the Study Companion read October 11, 2026. This bank holds 24 reading questions on short passages of our own, 18 on linguistic content and 14 on culture.
Timing
Exam mode asks 39 questions in 50 minutes, the count and the clock of Section 2, Reading with Cultural Knowledge.
What is not here
Section 1 plays recordings, and Sections 3 and 4 take three written and three spoken answers. A page without audio cannot imitate them, so listening, writing and speaking are left out.
- On the real test every question and answer choice is in French, so the questions here are too.
- In Section 1 each recording plays twice, and each question then allows 20 seconds.
- ETS sets every section at the Advanced Low level of the ACTFL proficiency guidelines.
Questions and answers
Is this Praxis II French practice test the real exam?
No. All 56 questions were written for this site from the ETS content topics for test 5174. None repeats or rewords a real test question or an ETS sample question, and a result here does not forecast a real score.
Is this sample Praxis French practice test free?
Yes. Every question, its answer and its explanation are free, and no account is needed. Your answers and missed questions stay in your browser.
How many questions are on the Praxis French test?
75 selected-response and 6 constructed-response tasks in about 3 hours: listening with cultural knowledge (36 questions, 50 minutes), reading with cultural knowledge (39, 50), three writing tasks (50) and three speaking tasks (15). ETS says some questions may not count toward your score.
What score do I need to pass the Praxis French test?
ETS sets no passing score. Your state or licensing agency sets a qualifying score, so look up its requirement before test day. The result here is the number right, with no verdict.
Is this a Praxis French study guide?
It is practice, not a guide. The outline itself is in the free ETS Study Companion for test 5174, which lists every content topic and the cultural subjects, from Francophone literature and history to geography.
