Questions and answers

How long is the NYS real estate broker exam?

The Department of State allows 2 1/2 hours for the written, multiple-choice exam, which it bases on the 152-hour curriculum. Its broker page prints no question count and no passing score, so this page does not guess them.

How is the New York broker exam scored?

The Department reports every result as passed or failed, with no numerical score. A passed result is valid for two years.

What does a New York broker license require?

The Department lists age 20, two years as a licensed salesperson or three years in the general real estate field, the minimum experience points, 152 hours of approved qualifying education and its own examination.

Are these the real NYS broker exam questions?

No. Every question was written for this page from New York statutes, the Department's rules and its broker syllabus, and each answer is checked against the section it cites. License law and arithmetic are on other pages.
