What field 058 covers
The objectives, read October 16, 2026, give four subareas: understanding students with physical or other health impairments 25%; assessment and individualized programs 25%; promoting development and learning 30%; the professional environment 20%. That makes twenty objectives. This bank holds 12, 12, 14 and 10. Under the clock, 40 of them fill 60 minutes, as fast as the real test moves.
Michigan's own rules
Ten questions rest on Michigan sources: the physician an evaluation team needs under R 340.1709, the birth trauma exclusion of R 340.1716, 15 students to a teacher and 60 square feet per person under R 340.1744, two hours a week of homebound teaching, and the school code on inhalers and medication.
Objectives 002 to 004 name medical terms outright: spasticity, dysphagia, hydrocephalus, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, types of seizures, coma and concussion.
The test page says this test was formerly called Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired, so older study materials may carry that name.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the MTTC 058 test?
One hundred, all multiple-choice, taken on a computer. The test page allows 2 hours 30 minutes of testing in a 2 hour 45 minute appointment, and says some questions may be unscored ones under evaluation.
What is the passing score for MTTC Physical or Other Health Impairment?
A scaled score of at least 220, where the scale runs from 100 to 300. The passing score is the department's, and only examinees who fall short are sent a numeric total.
Is the 058 test enough for the SC endorsement?
No, not for a first certificate. A Professional Knowledge and Skills test (117, 121, 135 or 136) is required as well, the test page says, and endorsement questions go to the department or to your educator preparation program.
Is there an MTTC Physical or Other Health Impairment study guide?
Yes: four sections on the MTTC site, the third holding the test objectives and the fourth sample multiple-choice questions. Registering also opens an online practice test. Nothing on this page is drawn from the samples or from that test.
