Questions and answers

How many questions are on the 6th grade Missouri MAP math test?

The state publishes points, not a question count: 54 for grade 6 mathematics. Eight belong to a performance event, and the blueprint spreads the other 46 over four reporting categories.

How long is the 6th grade MAP math test?

It has three sessions. The spring 2024 timing guidelines estimate 30 to 50 minutes for each of the first two and 30 to 40 minutes for the third, which is the performance event.

Can 6th graders use a calculator on the Missouri MAP test?

Yes, in mathematics. The timing guidelines mark all three grade 6 math sessions "Calculators Allowed". In grades 3 to 5 the math sessions are marked "Calculators Not Allowed".

What is a Proficient score on 6th grade MAP math?

417 to 437 on the MAP scale. Below Basic is 260 to 387, Basic is 388 to 416 and Advanced is 438 to 580. A percent on this page is not a scale score.

Does Missouri publish its own 6th grade math practice test?

Yes. The state's Grade-Level Assessment page has a grade 6 math practice form for paper and pencil, a large-print version and a scoring guide. It is linked under the questions, which are different and unofficial.
