What the Word exam covers
Microsoft's skills outline for exam MO-110, read on October 9, 2026, weights six areas: manage documents, 20 to 25 percent; text, paragraphs and sections, 20 to 25; tables and lists, 20 to 25; references, 5 to 10; graphic elements, 15 to 20; collaboration, 5 to 10. The bank is split the same way.
What is not asked here
Every question is multiple choice, and its explanation gives the tab and the command. No screen of the program is shown, and the Word Expert exam, MO-111, is left out.
- Page borders apply by section. A page that needs a border of its own goes in a section of its own.
- No Markup only hides tracked changes. Accept or reject them to take them out of the file.
- Word repeats a table header after automatic page breaks, not after a manual break inside the table.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Microsoft Word certification exam?
33 to 37 in 50 minutes, by Certiport's exam lengths page read on October 9, 2026. Exam mode here draws 35 questions on a 50-minute clock.
Is the MOS Word exam multiple choice?
No. Microsoft calls MOS exams live-in-the-application: you perform tasks in Word. This page asks where each task lives, so pair it with practice in the program.
What is the passing score for the MOS Word exam?
Microsoft reports Office exam scores from 1 to 1,000, and Certiport's scoring policy puts the passing value at 700. That is a scaled score and not a percent.
Is there still a Microsoft Word 2013 or 2016 certification practice test?
Certiport retired the MOS 2016 certifications on June 30, 2026 and now lists Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019 exams only. This test follows the Microsoft 365 Apps outline. Each linked Microsoft Support article names the Word versions it applies to.
Is this Microsoft Word practice test free?
Yes. All 80 questions and their explanations are free, with no account, and a paper test can be printed.
