What the QuickBooks exam covers

Certiport's objectives for the Intuit QuickBooks Online Certified User exam, read on October 10, 2026, set five areas: QuickBooks Online Plus administration; sales and money-in; vendors and money-out; bank accounts, transaction rules and receipts; basic reports and views. They carry no weights, so the bank follows the count of objectives in each. They assume at least 150 hours of instruction or hands-on use.

What the questions ask

Most ask what an entry does to the books: which form fits, where a payment lands, what a report counts. Five of the 68 objectives have no question, among them prompts for QuickBooks' own AI tool.

  • A bill is closed with Pay bills. A plain check written for it can leave the bill showing as unpaid.
  • Payments held in Undeposited Funds are combined into one bank deposit, so the books show the bank's single figure.
  • Voiding keeps a transaction at zero. Deleting removes it everywhere but the audit log.
