What the Indiana written test is
A QMA passes a written competency evaluation after a state-approved program of at least 100 hours. Ivy Tech Community College gives it for the Indiana Department of Health.
What this bank covers
The department links the QMA Scope of Practice: 24 tasks within the scope and 6 outside it. Thirty-nine questions name that document, 19 the department's QMA page and five Ivy Tech's testing FAQ. Ivy Tech's own practice questions also list basic pharmacology, drug classes and adverse effects, which this bank does not ask. The certified medication aide practice test has questions on drug classes and medication terms.
- A QMA may give medication by G-tube or J-tube but not by nasogastric tube, and by metered dose inhaler but not by nebulizer.
