What is on this page
Each subject has four questions for every grade from 3 to 8, sorted by grade. Math takes in the three reporting categories of each grade's guide. English language arts has a literary text, an informational text, a vocabulary word and a rule of standard English. Science and social studies follow each grade's course: grade 4 social studies is the ancient world, and grades 6 to 8 are the United States and Louisiana.
What LEAP 2025 means
LEAP 2025 is a name, not a test year. The state's practice tests and answer keys still carry it, while its assessment guides of July 2026 say LEAP.
Questions and answers
Is there a LEAP 2025 practice test online?
Yes. This page works in any browser with no sign-up. The state's own LEAP 2025 practice tests are separate: the button under the questions opens the page where the department lists them with their answer keys.
What subjects are on the LEAP test?
In 2026-2027, students in grades 3 to 8 take English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. From 2027-2028 the state tests social studies only in grades 3, 5 and 8, and science only in grades 4 and 7.
How long is the LEAP test?
It depends on the grade and the subject. Math has three sessions of 65 minutes in grades 3 to 5, and of 60, 75 and 75 minutes in grades 6 to 8. English language arts has three sessions, the first for a writing task.
How is the LEAP test scored?
Each subject is reported as one of five achievement levels: Unsatisfactory, Approaching Basic, Basic, Mastery and Advanced. The guides give no percent to pass, so a score on this page is neither a pass nor a fail.
