Read the full guide

Weighted like the real test

The bank keeps the real ratio of multiple-choice questions across the subtests (test structure read October 9, 2026): 24 on Subtest I, 24 on Subtest II and 18 on Subtest III. Exam mode asks all 66.

Seven domains

Subtest I: reading, language and literature, and history and social science. Subtest II: science and mathematics. Subtest III: physical education, human development, and visual and performing arts.

Where the answers come from

Each question names its source: the National Archives for United States history; NASA, NOAA, the U.S. Geological Survey and other federal science pages; California's content standards for physical education and the arts; a named Wikipedia article for the rest. Mathematics answers are worked twice.

  • Each subtest has a deeper page here with questions of its own; none of them is repeated in this bank.
  • Subtests I and III can be taken with an online proctor. Subtest II is given at test centers only.

Questions and answers

Is this CSET Multiple Subjects practice test free?

143 multiple-choice and 11 constructed-response questions over three subtests. Subtest I has 52 and 4, Subtest II has 52 and 4, and Subtest III has 39 and 3.
