Which EC–6 exam this follows
Core Subjects EC–6 (391) is the exam on the program's test list today; the older 291 is no longer listed. Its five subject exams are scored separately.
Length and timing
The Social Studies subject exam asks 40 selected-response questions in 50 minutes. Exam mode does the same with 40 of the 50 questions here.
Five competencies
Social Science Instruction, History, Geography and Culture, Economics, and Government and Citizenship. The framework gives no weights, so the bank leans toward the longer ones: 8, 12, 12, 8 and 10. Instruction questions rest on the TEKS for Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Grade 4 is the Texas history year in the K–6 TEKS: questions here cover Texas regions, the Revolution, the six flags and the state constitution.
