What the 6th grade math PSSA covers
Pennsylvania's test design has five reporting categories, and this page keeps their shares. Expressions and Equations is the largest: exponents, equivalent expressions, one-step equations and inequalities. The Number System covers dividing fractions, decimals, factors and negative numbers. Ratios and Proportional Relationships covers unit rates and percents. Statistics and Probability goes as far as interquartile range and mean absolute deviation. Geometry covers area, surface area and volume.
How the answers are checked
Each question names its eligible content code, such as M06.A-R.1.1.5, so a missed question points to one line of the anchors. The steps are shown, and every answer was worked out again.
The anchors say that formulas for area, surface area and volume are provided, so practice choosing the right one.
