OSAT English (207): the three selected-response subareas

The framework on the CEOE site, read October 15, 2026, weighs Listening, Speaking, and Viewing 18% of the test, Critical Reading and Reading Process 31%, and Critical Writing and Writing Process 36%. Our 50 questions split 11, 18 and 21.

English 107 and English 207

The test page for English (107) now says that test has retired and that a new English (207) test is open for registration. The 107 framework, dated September 2016, had five subareas. The 207 framework has four, and this page follows it.

The written assignment

The other 15% is one constructed-response assignment on planning instruction in English language arts. Nothing here practices it, so the exam on this page has no clock.

  • Six questions quote Oklahoma's 2021 English language arts standards, among them grade 12 objectives 12.1.S.2, 12.3.W.1, 12.3.W.3 and 12.3.W.4.
  • Two questions have Oklahoma ties: one on a novelist born in Oklahoma City, one on a young adult novel set in Tulsa.

Is there an OSAT English 107 study guide?

English (107) has retired. The CEOE site now carries a study guide for English (207), and its test design and framework section is the outline this page follows. None of its sample questions is repeated or reworded here.

How many questions are on the OSAT English test?

The test page gives 80 selected-response questions and one constructed-response assignment. A test center allows 4 hours of testing and an online proctor 3 hours, with 15 minutes before either for a tutorial and a nondisclosure agreement.

The test page gives 240. The written assignment counts toward it, so a number right on these questions cannot be turned into that score, and no pass verdict is shown here.

Listening, speaking and viewing; then vocabulary, informational and literary reading and literature of many traditions; then the writing process, narratives, informative writing, arguments and research. The test page lists no reference materials.
